PHYLLIS V. JEFFCOTT

1937 - 2021

On Tuesday, January 12, 2021, Phyllis V. Jeffcott, loving wife and mother of three children, passed away at the age of 83.

Phyllis was born on August 20, 1937, in Petersburg, VA to Phillip and Effie Miles. She graduated from Petersburg High School in 1954.

Phyllis loved animals and was a receptionist at Academy Veterinary Clinic in Colonial Heights, VA for 18 years. Phyllis always had a dog, or three, in her life up until her beloved Daisy, as shown in the photo, passed. Phyllis was kind and compassionate and always had a smile on her face.

Phyllis also loved to travel. She married her late husband right out of high school and began her traveling journey as a navy wife and traveled across the U.S. until his passing in 1970. In 1974, she married Ronald Jeffcott, Sr. and continued her journey, again as a navy wife, traveling not only around the U.S. but abroad as well. Upon his retirement, they resided in her childhood home in Matoaca, VA until her passing.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her father, Phillip, her mother, Effie, her granddaughter, Shannon, and her late husband William Hamond. She is survived by her husband Ronald Jeffcott, Sr., her three children, William Wayne, and Wanda, two stepchildren, Rhonda and Ronnie, her grandchildren, Virginia, Elizabeth, Elaine, and Megan, and seven great-grandchildren.

A graveside funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 21st, 2021 at Bermuda Memorial Cemetery in Chesterfield, VA at 11 o'clock a.m. Flowers may be sent to J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home in Hopewell, VA. Condolences may be registered at www.jtmorriss.com.
