Jay, it is going to be a long long time before I can begin to live life without feeling deeply saddened by your untimely death. What is holding me together is the countless fond memories that I have with, and of you. Our bond together was so very special and as you know, it was fast approaching our eighth year (July 31 ) since we first met at Horseneck Beach. I will never forget that day. I thank God for allowing our paths to cross. My life is so much richer because of you. I don't think I have ever met a more loving, caring, helpful and talented person than you. I will miss our chats and the quality time spent together. I was hoping for many more years of that, but your life was cut way to short Jay. Your dreams were just beginning to come true and you had a new found love for life. You have left us with a beautiful daughter in Karissa and whenever I see her she will remind me of you. She is so much like you in many ways. Well my special friend, until we meet again in afterlife, rest in peace and please realize that all who knew you, loved you so very much. I miss you, love you and thank you for being a part of my life.

It's hard to imagine that someone who was so full of life is now gone. Jay had a wonderful spirit, and we shared countless good times together. He meant a lot to me, as well as a lot of other people; I don't think he realized how many lives he had touched. To Karissa, the Thorpe family, Auntie Reggie and everyone else so deeply affected by this loss, I am so, so sorry... I hope that time helps you through this. Jay, I will never forget you or all the times you were there for me, especially at my darkest time. Rest in peace, my friend, I will never forget you and you will always have a very special place in my heart.

My sympathy to Jay's family, he was a wonderful and caring person. We used to have long talks when we were in high school and then again many years later. He was a special person who always wanted to listen and help even when he was in need. Rest my friend.

Jay, you were always there when I needed you. You called every day when I was going through chemo and came to visit me. You have a beautiful daughter who you cherished and she will be taken care of, remember that. We also had a lot of good laughs, nice tie, you know what I mean. It is going to be so sad not to hear or see you again. You are with Sally and Christie now and you will watch over Karissa all of her life. Miss you already.

Love,

Reggie

If the legacy of a man can be told by those he leaves behind then knowing your beautiful daughter Karissa is certainly no finer testament than any man could possibly want or need. We can not begin to understand god's plan for you Jay nor why anyone leaves us at a young age but there is no doubt you've been called into a greater service in heaven. Please rest in peace knowing that your daughter is loved, cared for, and will be taken care of for the rest of her life. Most men could ask for nothing more than that. I enjoyed knowing you for the short time our paths have crossed and pray you rest in peace and soar with the angels until we meet again.
