Kenneth Johnson

Kenneth P. Johnson, "Kenny", 74, of Hamburg, passed away on Thursday, April 7, 2022 in the Laurel Center. He was the husband of Lyndell M. (Bates) Johnson. They were married on January 26, 1974 and celebrated forty-eight years of marriage. Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late John W. and Kathleen (Davies) Johnson. Kenny was a 1966 graduate of Hamburg Area High School. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. Kenny was employed in the printing industry, working for Standard Offset Printing Company, Offset Impressions, and last for Don Bleiler. He was an active member of First United Church of Christ, Hamburg. He was a member and past commander of Wagner-Good Post #216 V.F.W., Hamburg; and a member of the Keystone Social Club. Kenny was an avid photographer and was always taking pictures of his grandkids activities, whether it was sports or dancing. He also photographed the sports activities of many family friends. He was an avid racing fan, photographing different events. He was a founding member of the York County Racing Club as well as the Reading Fairgrounds Racing Club. Kenny had a passion for the Tennessee Volunteers and would often be seen sporting the orange and white. He enjoyed golfing and participated in various leagues. Kenny could often be seen riding through Hamburg on his scooter accompanied by one of his rescue Shepherds, most recently "Gigi". He especially enjoyed visiting his "Happy Place" Walt Disney World with his family, making many cherished memories. Surviving in addition to his wife are his children: Cory M. Johnson, husband of Lindsay (Werley) Johnson, Hamburg; and Lindsay C. (Johnson) Crespo, wife of Steven Crespo, Hamburg; five grandchildren: Kaeli G. and Jordyn L. Crespo; and Thomas H.G., Cory M., Jr., and Scarlette A.J. Johnson; and many nieces and nephews. Kenny was predeceased by a son: Gary L. Johnson, who died May 25, 2002; and two brothers: John F. and Robert L. Johnson. Services will be held on Tuesday at 11:30 am from First United Church of Christ, 76 S. Third Street, Hamburg. Burial with military honors will follow in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. A viewing will be held on Monday from 6:00 to 9:00 pm at Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 223 Peach Street, Leesport and Tuesday 10:00 to 11:30 am at the church.
