Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Melvin and Margaret (Griffith) Gerhart.
He was a graduate of Conrad Weiser High School.
Bob was employed as a line mechanic for Malina Corporation in Womelsdorf from 1977-1985. He went on to work as a maintenance technician for COTT Beverages Wyomissing Inc., from 1985-2007.
He was a member of Joe Foss for 40 years.
Bob was known for being a charitable person who enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He loved racing, fishing and target practice. He was a loving father, grandfather, brother and friend. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by daughter, Jamie L. Gerhart, Bethel; granddaughter, Aribella Kehr, Bethel; siblings: Mildred Bell, Texas; Marian Gerhart, Womelsdorf; Melvin Gerhart,
Denver; and Mark Gerhart; niece, Nancy Rahburger,
Wernersville; and nephew, Mel Gerhart, Womelsdorf.
At Bob's request, a Celebration of Life will be held in his memory. Services will he held at on Saturday, April 21, 2018, at 2 p.m. at Womelsdorf Fire Company Social Quarters, 20 N. Front St., Womelsdorf, PA 19567.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made c/o Jamie Gerhart and sent to Edward J. Kuhn
Funeral Home Inc., at 739 Penn Ave., West Reading, PA 19611, to help defray funeral costs.
