My condolences to the McCarthy family. He will be greatly missed. I had the pleasure of working with “Mac” at The Winsted Evening Citizen newspaper back in the 1970's. We used to tease him by calling him “Lou Grant”. He loved it.
May the love of friends and family carry you through your grief.

I was born and raised in Winsted and I do recall that Bob was a true gentleman. I have fond memories of watching him play basketball at the YMCA with Jim Davidson, Jack Doherty and Lenny Collins. Good athlete.
Bob was also a close friend of my deceased bother-in-law, Gene Scalise.
May God bless all the family.

To All the members of the MCCarthy Family.
Another Icon has left the Community of Winsted. Bob was certainly a Role Model for all of us in the Winsted Community growing up. He was very instrumental in teaching the major aspect of Community Service. Serving with him on the Winsted Recreation Board created a "Community Pride" that will last forever. Thank you Bob for being a Friend and a man of outstanding Character. God has gained a True partner in Heaven. God Bless! Jim DiVita Class of 62
