Gary Davis Obituary

Gary Lee Davis

1955 - 2017

Gary Lee Davis was born on February 18, 1955 to Richard and Carol Davis in Alvadore, Oregon. Gary was the firstborn of the Davis family, followed by his sisters Linda Davis Larson (husband Lars Larson) and Diane Davis as well as his beloved niece, Devin Davis. Gary attended Willamette High School, LCC and the University of Oregon.

Early in his life, he was a registered nurse, but eventually answered the call of the sea, which was his true love. Gary served as a Chief Engineer for Foss Maritime, spending many years at sea on tug boats, traveling the world. Gary loved the sea but he also loved spending time on the family farm, driving tractors, hauling hay and tending to the cattle. One of Gary's friends said it best: the family farm was Gary's true north. Gary was a devoted fan of live music, NASCAR and the great outdoors, spending time fishing, hunting and shooting his bow and arrows. Gary was a kind and gentle man who overcame many obstacles in his life with courage and grace. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. No service is planned.
