What can I say. I got call last evening from Mary Jane. I was shocked. I always called Steve once a month as I live in PA.
met him in 1975 as I played Softball and he was was in the stands. So we would go out with team in Yuba City Shakies Pizza. Remember them?? Then he would invite a few of us to parents home. Never seen a place like that as I grew up poor. But his Father and Mother Elroy and Bertie were the perfect hosts. Bertie always made food for us and Elroy was the host.
Then I moved to Seattle in Dec. 1980 and Steve and Mary Jane to visit with Aimie. In a stroller. tells you how young she was.
Later on Steve call me. Hey Ron. Mary Jane and I going to Modesto, Cal. to visit her parents. Can you come and babysit. he knew I had a job I could do that. I said?? Why not. They lived in Quincy at that time in the Sierras. So I went. I had Elisa , Kira, and Amie. 8, 10, 12. I took them to school every day and picked them up and made meals, watch TV. But always read bedtime stories to Elishia. She was my Fav.
But I visit again in Reno when they move. Mary Jane was a Banker all of her life. Wells Fargo. BBQ??? You go to Steve fry home?? You are having BBQ.
I have met many folks in my life, but Steve is something to behold if you ever met him. He like to fish, and it was so cool the last two years he made a point of fishing. Go to San Diego, take his brothers out in SF Bay. He had a beautiful life the last two years, and he had a Beautiful life all these years.
Thank you Steve Fry, Mary Jane, Elyishia, Kira, Aimie. For being in my Life. I could never ask for a better Family.
I am crying writing this. Thank you for your Life.

Dear Steve,
Thank you for all of the brotherly advise over the years. Thanks for not beating me up when I stole your GTO Judge in High School and took it for a joy ride. Thank you for your beautiful wife, your beautiful daughters and your grandchildren. I will do my best to look after all of them. I truly loved our time together as a family and out on the long range fishing trips in Mexico. Crabbing and fishing off the Marin County Coast and just hanging out. Rita and I loved you and we will miss you dearly.
Steve with an 8 pounder at Pyramid. Miss ya Bud!
