Dear family of Alva Greene,
In the four years since moving to Provo we have enjoyed getting to know Brother Greene and liked him even more when we discovered he was Marge's father.
A story: Our ward had a scout Sunday about a year ago. The meeting was to end when Brother Greene stood up and walked to the podium and began speaking about his love of scouting. As we age sometimes we feel more and more invisible and we were so happy he took it upon himself to tell a few of his experiences. He was indeed a very special man. We would be at the funeral today except that my mother who is now in a wheelchair and a reluctant traveler at 89 is visiting for the weekend. We will be with you in spirit honoring your wonderful father. Sherry and LeGrande (Grit ) Young

President Greene was my mission president in the North British Mission. He was a great mission president and I thought about him often through the years since my mission. I have been back to England many times since I returned from my mission. The first time I returned to England was about 20 years after my mission. I looked up as many of the good Saints that I helped bring into the Church. It was one of the most spiritual experiences of my life. It was wonderful to have them hug me and thank me to taking the Gospel to them. President Greene encouraged each of his missionaries to do their very best. I shall always remember President and Sister Greene and the love that radiated from them towards the missionaries and the English Saints. I am saddened to hear of his passing.

Alva was a great cousin and friend to my mother Pauline Gardiner Carlson on earth, and now she can greet another cousin in Paradise.

Bishop Greene was one of the first bishops that I remember. I remember the excitement of my own dad when he was called to be mission president. We still think of their Mobley house as where "the Greene's lived." Our love to your family, Jeff and Kay (Sorensen) Bunn
