Caleb Graves Obituary
Mr. Caleb C. Graves passed away on October 9, 2018 at the age of 96. Funeral services for Mr. Graves will be held at 1:00P.M. on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at New Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, 1639 Hays Street. Visitation will be held from 5:00P.M. until 8:00P.M. on Friday, October 19, 2018 at Lewis Funeral Home. Interment will be held on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at 11:30A.M. at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.

I remember Mr Graves from my very early childhood at Taylor´s Barbershop. My dad and I went there for haircuts and to get our shoes shined. A few years later in 1959 we moved into the house that was next door to his brother Mr Burrell Graves. I would see him then when he would come by to visit family. They later bought there own establishment down off East Commerce Graves Brother´s Barbershop. Yes I remember him from a kid to adulthood as a very good man.

I grew up at Taylor's Barbershop as child. Caleb's brother was my neighbor and barber. These two men were pillars of the Eastside. Entrepreneurs opening the Graves Barbershop on East Commerce. He will be missed.
