The graveside service for George "Carvy" Snell, III of Metter and husband of Susan Sasser Snell, will be held 11 o'clock in the morning on Monday, March 15, 2021 in Lake Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel, Metter, on Sunday, March 14, 2021 beginning at 5 o'clock in the afternoon. www.kennedyfuneralhomechapels.com

I am so saddened to hear of Carvy's passing. He was such a great man, a true gentleman, a kind soul and had a quick wit. He always treated me very well and was always helpful in promoting positive news stories about the Metter Police Department while I was there. Praying for the Snell family. Dennis Nelson

I just heard the incredibly sad news about Carvy. My love goes out to the family and everyone who adored him. He was a kind man, a talented newspaper guy and an even better community organizer. I was fortunate to have him as a mentor during my time at The Metter Advertiser, and everyone who cares about Metter and Candler County is lucky to have had him as a champion for the community. He is leaving awfully big shoes to fill. Sending love and light to all of you -- Susan, Stephen, Bird, Sandy and family.
