Sister Francesca Cabrini Weber

Sister Francesca Cabrini Weber, SNJM Sister Francesca Cabrini Weber, (Olga Weber) -- a native of Los Angeles, California died at the Convent of the Holy Names, Los Gatos on December 23, 2011 at 91 years of age, and as a vowed member of the Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary for 61 years. Sister Francesca was first and foremost an educator. She taught for a brief period of time at Ramona Convent Secondary School (Alhambra) and Holy Names High School (Oakland). But she gave her heart and life to Holy Names University. There she educated in the classroom as an English Professor, and outside of the classroom with her joie de vivre. During her 46 years at Holy Names University Sister Francesca served as Graduate Dean, on countless committees, and was a goodwill ambassador for the University wherever she went. She loved to travel our world and to share that world as a lively tour guide to Ashland, Europe, Russia and wherever the next adventure seemed to be calling her. She is survived by her brothers, Carlo and Darius, their families and other relatives. She is remembered fondly by her beloved Sisters and Associates of the Holy Names and by family, friends, Holy Names University colleagues and alums. The Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Thursday, December 29 at 2:00 p.m. at the Convent of the Holy Names, 200 Prospect Avenue, Los Gatos. Her burial will be at 10:15 a.m. on Friday, December 30, 2011 at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Hayward, California.
