Jim Myers, age 85, retired in Round Rock, Texas, passed away on February 26, 2025. He was surrounded by his family and friends in his last days. Jim was born on March 13, 1939 in Minneapolis Minnesota. His parents, who preceded him in death, were Harold Arthur Myers and Edith Anderson Myers. He attended De La Salle High School, and the University of Minnesota.
He was drafted by the Army in 1961 and spent his Army career at Fort Lee, Va. His unit was deployed to the coast of Florida during the Cuban Crisis. Jim pursued a career in radio broadcasting, and was an on-air personality at WHAP in Petersburg, VA. and WRRR in Rockford, Illinois. He worked for KYA Radio and KRON TV in San Francisco, and was the General Manager of KSFO radio.

He also celebrated many chapel services at Duggan's Serra Mortuary in Daly City.

His seven grandchildren, Jackson McNatt, Cooper McNatt, Tommy Garry, Shannon Garry, Tyler Myers (Courtney) Travis Myers, Jake Myers, and his sister, Sharon Myers.

Jim and I were good friends when we were at DeLaSalle high school. I remember him as being a very kind person. He had a great sense of humor and had many friends during high school.
I also graduated from DeLaSalle and went to the U of M. I was also drafted into the Army in 1961. It sounds like Jim had a full life and made the best of his wonderful personality. He surely will be missed by all. Please accept my condolences. Pat Figge

I am grateful for Deacon Jim's kind, compassionate and humorous homily at my brother Larry's memorial. We were lucky to have located him at that time. I enjoyed my interactions with him. May his family find comfort and may he rest in peace.
