Mrs.Loretta was a very sweet woman, although I had only met her in her last couple of years, I looked forward to seeing her smile every day.

Mom was an amazing lady. She was beautiful, intelligent, funny, compassionate and complex. No one has ever made me laugh as hard or feel as loved. Her and Dad definitely had a love that was so incredibly rare that it was so wonderful just to be around them. They were always so welcoming and inclusive to everyone. Growing up in the Haight Ashbury & Twin Peaks was quite unique and a San Francisco that is no longer around. My parents were of the Greatest Generation. They had a large group of life long friends (and family) from Presentation, St. Ignatius, St. Agnes, USF & the Monicans that loved to socialize at so many wonderful restaurants and nightspots that are no longer here, Caesars, Villa Romano, San Remo & Bimbos and grew up when they were able to experience quintessential San Francisco locations that are no longer around, such as sutro baths, 49er games at Kezar, Giants games at Seal Stadium, Playland & The Fun House, Taravel Ice Skating or going over to Treasure Island for Worlds Fair. We also spent every summer (all summer) up at our cabin at Lake Pillsbury with mom staying there with my brother, dog Tipsy and I and Dad would drive up every weekend and then his vacation. So we escaped the foggiest & coldest time of San Francisco - summer!! We went to the same schools that my parents went to, St. Agnes, Presentation & St. Ignatius. It was a time when you had to get to church early at St. Agnes, first to find parking and/or to see how far in the panhandle you had to park and hope to find a spot amongst the hippies, and walk fast to church on Masonic in your Sunday best to get a seat so you didn´t have to stand at the back of the enormous church. We were bribed with promises of enchiladas in brown paper from Pull Pup (out at the beach across from Playland) so we would be good for church. Mom & Dad were extraordinary and it was a time I cherish (most not all - life is always difficult no matter when or where) and want to remember all those years and people who made my life that much richer!! Thanks Mom - I will love you with my whole heart forever!!

I had Loretta Marshall as a teacher at St. Rose Academy and only have wonderful memories of her. She had a great personality and enjoyed being in her class. I remember running into her year later and she remembered me. We chatted a for a bit. Great memories. My thoughts are with her family.

My heart goes out to Joan who spent years taking care of her mother. Loretta was like a second mother to me. We shared many laughs. She was a wonderful person who had such a charismatic personality. I will always think of her with a smile. You will be missed by many
