Robert Macaluso Obituary

Robert Macaluso
09/12/1937 - 01/02/2025
Robert Leonard "Bob" Macaluso was born on September 12, 1937, and passed away peacefully on January 2, 2025. Bob was the second child born to Charles and Mary Macaluso. He had two brothers, Tom and Ron; and one sister, Marilyn.
Bob was born in San Francisco and grew up in the Excelsior District. He attended Corpus Christi grammar school, Archbishop Riordan High School and USF. As a young man, Bob enjoyed all sports, but was particularly skilled at baseball. He played second base for two Riordan Crusader championship teams, and was a member of the USF team for three years. Later in life, he was an active member of the San Francisco Old Timers Baseball Association, an avid Giants fan and fixture at his grandsons' Little League games.
Bob spent 40 years as a high school teacher, coach and administrator. He was also in the U.S. Army Reserve for 30 years, where he retired as a colonel. However, his most unique "job" was working as a statistician for the Golden State Warriors for 45 years. After retiring, he enjoyed playing golf, traveling the world (especially Italy) and spending time with his grandsons.
Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara. He is survived by his son, Kevin; daughter-in-law, Mairin; and three grandsons, Aidan, Seamus and Tynan. A Celebration of Life ceremony will be planned soon.

I am so sad to finally find out that Bob has passed. We were good friends until I moved in 2010. I stopped hearing from him a year or so ago and kept searching for any word of him. I have wonderful memories of the nice times we shared He loved his family, and San Francisco. I am glad he passed peacefully.
With sincere condolences,
