I am very saddened to hear this.
Judge Yeargin handled my asylum case and I remember his wisdom and thoughtfulness very vividly.
May Lord Jesus put him in his right hand!

I am so sorry to hear about Bob´s passing. I have known Bob for over 25 years, first while he was with INS and then later when we were both IJs (and next door office buddies). We ultimately ended up living just a few blocks from each other and we would continue to meet regularly for dinner after he retired. I loved hearing about his travel adventures and discussing our often opposing views. He was full of life and incredible active in all sorts of activities, from translating mandarin legal books to his work with city guides. A true gentleman and friend that I will miss. My deepest sympathy to his family.

Today I promised contact information to Carol, Bob 's sister. However, I did not take down Carol's email address correctly and cannot send the information to her that I promised. This concerns Lore Geisse. I hope Carol sees this and contacts me at [email protected].

I am very saddened to hear of Bob´s passing. Here is Bob with our Mandarin class in November 2022 at a holiday gathering. Pictured with Bob are Paolo Mele, Nancy Chiu, our teacher Coco (Kou) Hui, Virginia Yang, Shirley Tan, and Elaine Lee. All of us studied Mandarin together in San Francisco for over 20 years. We met at UC Berkeley Extension. When UC Berkeley Extension ran out of Mandarin classes for us, we hired our own teacher to continue our studies. We met for class at Henry´s Hunan Restaurant since we did not have a classroom, and we enjoyed many post-class lunches and great conversations with Bob over the years. We will miss you, Bob.

Bob was a friend from Bellarmine and the Passionist Fathers & Brothers (and their formation alumni group we both served as members). My fond memories include sitting in his office when he was editor of the Bellarmine student newspaper and chatting. Soft spoken, kind, and always thoughtful, Bob was a treasure. His passing deeply saddens me. My condolences to his family and friends.

The news of Bob Yeargin's death was a great shock to me and very sad. I met Bob in the fall of 1965 during my first year at the Passionist high school seminary in Warrenton, Missouri. Bob was one of the seniors who reached out to the first year students to make us feel welcome and at home. Our friendship began then and continued when we were students at Bellarmine College in Louisville. Bob was a person of beautiful goodness and kindness, of unusual thoughtfulness and wisdom. Anyone who knew Bob is better because of it. I was looking forward to "continuing the conversation" with him at the upcoming reunion of Passionist alumni in Louisville in October. I will miss him very much.

Bob was 2 years ahead of me in high school, so we didn't interact that much. But when we were on a trip to Africa in 2015, we roomed together a few nights, and had some good talks, and it was great to get the chance to know him better. I'll particularly remember being in that Land Cruiser watching a pride of lions devour a zebra.

I was very saddened to hear of Bob passing away. I have known him for many years through high school, college, and later connected to him through the Passionist Alumni. He was a great individual and always considerate. God bless him on his way home. Fr. Joe Moons, C.P. (Citrus Heights, CA)
