Walter S. Carr

Walter S. Carr, of Milton, died unexpectedly, Monday July 31, 2017. Born in Milton, Walter was a graduate of Xaverian Brothers High School and University of Massachusetts. He worked for many years at the former Frank Wood Convalescent Home in Mattapan and recently retired from the Federal Reserve Bank as a computer operator. He was currently employed part-time at Home Depot, Quincy Adams store. Mr. Carr enjoyed the outdoors and was a member of the Trustees of the Reservation and the Quincy YMCA. He was a Eucharistic minister at Saint Agatha Church. He was the beloved husband of Maureen M. (Lawlor) Carr; beloved son of Dorothy L. (Merrigan) Carr of Quincy and the late Charles M. Carr Sr.; brother of Charles M. Carr Jr. of Las Vegas, Nev., and Christopher E. Carr and his wife Lisa of Milton; uncle of Cody and Jared Carr and Julia and Rosemary Brewer, all of Milton; son-in-law of Crosbie and the late Mary Lawlor of Milton; brother-in-law of Joseph A. Lawlor and his wife Susan, Anthony F. Lawlor, Eileen M. Lawlor and her husband Paul DeBonis, Jerome C. Lawlor and his wife Jean and Cecelia Lawlor her husband Joe Callahan. Walter is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Mike, Pat, Katie, Sheila, Nora, Aidan and Veronica; and his dogs, Morgan and Mollie. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in Saint Agatha Church, Adams Street at Brook Road, Milton, Tuesday, August 8, at 10:30 a.m. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours at Dolan Funeral Home, 460 Granite Avenue, East Milton Square, Monday 4-8 p.m. Interment in Milton Cemetery.
