Edward GAYDA Obituary

Edward C Gayda, 94 left us on Dec. 11, 2021. He lived a full life and loved his family and the WSU Cougars. He went to WSU on the GI bill (Navy) and played basketball as an All-American. He was inducted into the WSU Hall of Fame and later to the Pac 12 Hall of Fame representing the Cougars. He was drafted and played one season with the Atlanta Blackhawks before marrying and moving on to the insurance business. He owned several businesses including the Misfit restaurant in Pullman and before that was in construction in Seattle. He enjoyed traveling and most recently took some river cruises with his dear friend Joanne Slavin. Ed was an excellent golfer and handball player who enjoyed playing in the local tournaments. He was also an avid Gonzaga basketball fan. He was preceded in death by his parents, 6 siblings, and wife Joanne Gayda. He is survived by his children Ed X. Gayda (Kathy) Patsy Gayda, Robert Gayda, Carlahn Gayda (Joan), and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers please consider donations to Rockwood South Retirement Community and Hospice of Spokane. Services are to be held in the Spring of 2022.
