Robert Morelli Obituary

Robert Anthony Morelli
Robert Anthony Morelli, 76, of Stamford, Connecticut, died on January 6, 2019. He was born on September 27, 1942 to the late Dominick Morelli and Mary Pasqua Morelli. He had a long career selling cars at several dealerships in Greenwich, including Toyota of Greenwich. He transitioned from automobile sales to insurance sales in the early 1990s, owning and operating Connecticut Group Services. In his retirement, Bob found his "dream job" as a starter and ranger at The Griff in Greenwich. Bob grew up in Stamford, the oldest cousin in a large and close family. He graduated from Stamford High School in 1961, and remained close to many of his high school friends throughout his life. While not a boater, Bob loved the camaraderie and friendship at the Halloween Yacht Club. Bob was a longtime member of St. Catherine of Siena Church in Riverside and a Board Member of St. Camila's Nursing Home in Stamford. His greatest joy in life was spending time with his family and friends, especially at holidays and family celebrations.
Bob is survived by his wife of 50 years, Marianne Zadrosny Morelli, who he adored. Bob also leaves his children David Morelli and his wife Tonya, Catherine Morelli, and Tracy Morelli Pramenko and her husband John. Bob was blessed with eight grandchildren: Michael, Kate, Thomas and Paul Morelli; Carter and Anne Horton; and Maggie and Sam Pramenko. Bob is also survived by his brother, Thomas Morelli and his wife Diane, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, January 12 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Catherine of Siena Church, Riverside. Burial will be private. To honor Bob's memory, donations may be made to The Bennett Cancer Center at Stamford Hospital or to St. Catherine of Siena Church.

loved life, his friends and most of all family. I've know him since HS as he was part of my sisters group of friends, always having fun. Bobby proudly sold me my 1st Toyota car 46 years ago ! I'm so happy that I got to join in your HS group during the past few years and talk about the good old days with you and Bobby. Please accept my deepest sympathy in your

Marianne- I am so sorry to have learned about Bob's passing. He was a unique and wonderful individual who I enjoyed having work for me and he added significantly to the serious but yet fun atmosphere at The Griff. I was glad to see in his obituary that his work at The Griff was his dream job. I want you to know that he was universally liked at The Griff by co-workers and customers alike and will be sorely missed. If there is anything I can do for you, please do not hesitate to get in touch with me.

To Marianne and the Morelli family, I will miss Bob, and thank you all for sharing him with so many. The Celebration of Life service for Bob at St. Catherine of Siena Church was beautiful, I enjoyed hearing Joe Amato's name referenced in the Eulogy. I remember playing golf with Bob and his late good friend John Lynch, my cousin, which will always be a wonderful memory, that is where I learned about 'the press' in a game of Nassau (or hustle as I called it after that hole; all in good jest). Bob made such a positive impression on so many, that was evident by those who filled the Church today. I will remember him for his friendship and kindness, after today for his love for family, St. Catherine's, friends, as well as zest for life. Take care, we will always have our memories and be with him one day again in eternal life.

The Cove has lost another outstanding member of it's community. I am deeply sorry to hear of Bob's passing. My prayers and condolences go out to you and your family. The good old days always included Bob and the many members of the Morelli family. Avery Street, Dean Street, Euclid Avenue, some of the best streets to grown up in or hang out near. Back in the day the Cove was family. May God bless you and give you the strength to carry you through this saddest of times.
With prayer,

Remembering Mr. Morelli fondly as the "backstage Dad" for the St. Catherine's plays when they had just started under the direction of Joe Amato. He was a gentle giant. It's been decades since I saw him and was saddened this news. May he rest in peace. My deepest condolences to Mrs. Morelli, Cathy, Tracy and David.

Peace, love and light, Gina Williamson
