Lily Morrow Obituary
LAFAYETTE - Graveside services will be held on Friday, November 28, 2014, at 11:30 AM in Hebrew Rest Cemetery for Lily Kahn Morrow, 75, who died on Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at her home in Lafayette.
Rabbi Alex Kress, of Congregation Gates of Prayer in New Iberia, will conduct the service.
She is survived by a host of loving friends and caregivers.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Edward Morrow; her parents, Leo and Selma Levy Kahn.
Lily was the retired owner of Lily's for Books in the Oil Center. She was a graduate of the Academy of the Sacred Heart and received her degree in Sociology from St. Mary's Dominican College in New Orleans. Lily was kind and generous to a fault. She will be deeply missed.
In lieu flowers of, memorial contributions in Lily Morrow's name may be sent to Congregation Gates of Prayer, 1620 Elm Street, New Iberia, La. 70560.

My memories of Lily go back to the time when Lily first came to Grand Coteau. Being from Crowley, I carpooled with the Kahns to bring her to school on Sunday's. At first, she would cry when leaving home, but soon she was just another of us girls. The nuns had prepared us for her arrival. We were not to give her undue servic(as it would be called today). We were. It to help pick up any items she dropped. This was hard on everyone, especially Lily, but soon she was smiling and taking care of herself. She would even pick up something someone else dropped. Her since of humor was contagious. She was a blessing ro the students at Coteau. Sophie Cassidy Gibson.
