LAKELAND - Mrs. Berta McHenry Thomas Floyd went to her eternal home, September 18, 2008, due to heart failure.
Mrs. Floyd retired from Owens Illinois Glass Plant in Lakeland after 18 1/2 years of service.
She was preceded in death by her mother: Sarah Ann Lee McHenry and her father: Lynn Mc McHenry; her first husband: Walter Thomas; great granddaughter: Bethany Weatherford; brothers: Franklin Mc-Henry, Webster Mc-Henry, Dewey McHenry; sisters: Recy Floyd and Ila J Burke.
She is survived by her second husband: Bill Floyd; sister: Lela Donaldson; brother: Dav-id McHenry; daughter & son-in-law: Sarah & Charles (Bunk) Sherrouse, Sr. & daughter & son-in-law Sandee & Jerry Stevens, Sr., 5 grandchildren: Charlene Weatherford (Bart), Charles (Chuck) Sherrouse, Jr., Jerry Stevens, Jr. (Bonnie), Tonya Akins (Randy), and Melissa Tremel (Jad), 10 great grandchildren: Sarah & Haley Weath-erford; Joshua, Jacob, Jonathon, Hannah Sherrouse, Brett & Brandon Stevens, Marissa & Mya Tremel. She is also survived by 20 nieces & nephews; & step sons: Robert & Billy Floyd.
Visitation will be at 1:00p.m., Friday, September 19, 2008, at Gentry Morrison, Southside, 1727 Bartow Rd in Lakeland followed by a Celebration of Life service at 2:00p.m. The burial will take place in Euchee Valley, DeFuniak Springs, FL, Monday, September 22, 2008.

I have known Berta all my life, what a wonderful and God like person. You could feel His presense when you were with her.
It was a joy to celebrate her life today with the family.
She will always be in my memories.
Thoughts and prayers to the family,
