WALTERS, 80
LAKELAND - Mr. Herbert W. Walters, 80, of Lakeland, passed away June 12, 2012, from pneumonia.
He was born February 5, 1932 in Chidester, AR to Lee and Ida Lee Walters. He served in the US Army during the Korean War. He moved to Florida in 1963 to work in construction at NASA and Disney World. He then was a business owner in asphalt sealcoating until his retirement.
Herb was first married to Jerrie Walters and later to Mary Kilpatrick Walters of Lakeland.
He is survived by four brothers: William (Shir-ley) Walters, Thomas (Nancy) Walters, Roland (LaQuata) Walters, and Ron Walters, all out-of-state. He is also survived by seven children: Jerolyn (Donald) Graham, Sandra Browning, Donna (Rick) Cooper, Dwayne (Susan) Walters, Tony (Carey) Walters, all out-of-state, and Dennis Walters of Ft. Meyers and Katie Walters of Lakeland. In addition he had 16 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will follow at a later date.
