Robert Reader Obituary
Born Sept. 8, 1970, in Louisville, he attended Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais, Illinois and the University of Louisville and was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Fredericktown.
He was Head Football Coach at Marion County High School for the last 3 years. Prior to that he was a paraeducator and Head Football Coach at Moore High School for 2 years and Assistant Football coach at Pleasure Ridge Park High School for 9 years. While at PRP High School they went to the 6A state championship game. In 2018 he was named the Courier Journal KY High School Football Coach of the year.
He is survived by his wife, Joanna Filiatreau Reader, a son, Patrick Tennill (Ashley Yates) of Springfield, a daughter, Marlee Tennill at home, his father Robert ((Joyce) Reader of Louisville and his mother, Rebecca Wooten Reader of St. Catharine.
Funeral mass for Coach Robert Ray "Rob" Reader was held at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 30, 2021, at Holy Trinity Church Community Center, 306 Fredericktown Road, Springfield with Rev. Michael Martin officating. Burial was in Holy Trinity Cemetery. Visitation was at Holy Trinity Church Community Center from 12 noon till 8 p.m. Sunday where a prayer service wase held at 7 p.m. and visitation held again from 7 a.m. till time of service on Monday morning.
Pallbearers were Kevin Watson, Travis Cotten, Troy Blakely, Bradley Miles, Brennen Booth, JJ Weaver, Bryan Barry and Ryan Spalding.
Honorary pallbearers will be the coaches and players of the Marion County football team.
Hale-Polin-Robinson Funeral Home in Springfield was entrusted with arrangements.
