Stephen Bartelli Obituary
Brighton - Stephen Rhoades Bartelli, 76, of Brighton, Illinois, died Monday, May 31, 2021, at home. He was born Sept. 5, 1944 in Frontenac, Kansas, the son of Oberdon and Darlene (Rhoades) Bartelli. He married Alice Hill of Greenfield, Illinois, on Aug. 13, 1975.
Steve graduated from Frontenac High School in 1962. He earned is Bachelor of Arts Degree in Social Work in 1974 at Pittsburg State University in Kansas. He achieved his Masters Degree in Social Work from the University of Hawaii 1975. While living in Honolulu 1974 – 1985, Steve worked at the Diamond Head Community Mental Health Center in Honolulu. After moving back to Illinois in 1985, he was the Assistant Executive Director of the Beverly Farm Foundation in Godfrey, Illinois. Then he & Alice ran a home business – a scheduling service for flight attendants – from 1998 to 2015 in Greenfield, Illinois.
Two children survive him; son, Troy Stephen Bartelli of Arma, Kansas, & his wife, Kimberly Christine (nee Robinson) and Steve's daughter, Keisha Marie (Bartelli) Wheeler & her husband, Rex Warren Wheeler II of Minneapolis, Minesota. Grandchildren are Troy's children Abby Danielle, Keanna Jordan, and Peyton Nicole. Keisha's children are Joshua Shannon, Jocelyn Faith, and Rex Warren Wheeler III. There are three great-grandchildren, Abby's Kanton Alec Lindsay-Gaikowski, Keanna's Guinevere Rae Brown, and Peyton's Barron David Andrew Dobbins.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents; as well as his brother, Gary Dwain Bartelli; and his sister, Janis Galene (Bartelli) Buzzard. His wife, Alice, still survives and lives in their Brighton home.
Steve did not want to have a traditional funeral or flowers. If you wish to make a donation in his honor, you may donate to Frontenac High School in Frontenac, KS, or to the charity of your choice.

Alice and family, I hope in the past year the Lord has helped you to find Peace with Steves passing.
I think of him often. I have a Roseville planter that Steve gave me that was his mothers hanging in my kitchen window. May his memory live on.

Alice, so sad to learn of Steve’s passing. Linda and I had so many fun times with the two of you in Honolulu. I think of Steve often, always with a big smile on his face.
