SIMON, Adam A., 27, of Kill Devil Hills, NC, passed away on October 31, 2022. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Norman Simon, Sr.; grandmother, Helen Constant; and uncle, Eugene ""Jeep"" Hawkins. He is survived by his parents, Allison and Norman Simon, Jr.; grandmother, Thelma Simon; grandfather, Tony Constant; aunts, Sharon Simon, Brenda Hicks (James), Elaine Hawkins Laubach (Terry), Kathy Constant; uncle, Michael Constant; and cousins, Tony Hawkins, Justin Hawkins, Melissa Hunt, Ryan Hunt, Chris Hicks, and Joe Hicks,
Adam was a real catch in many ways. He was THE catch as the best son, friend, employee, person, speaker, and so much more. He was so articulate and captivating when he spoke, and the smartest person you would ever meet. He loved life and cautiously never met a stranger. Once graduating from Randolph Macon College he pursued a job in the Outer Banks, a place where he had always wanted to live.
After working at the NC Inland Fisheries for four years, he landed the job as the Dare County Community Conservationist. Adam loved the ocean and waterways, and was very passionate about the environment. Everything that Adam wanted in life he made happen. He was very ambitious and was the best at everything he did. Fishing wasn't just for fun, it was a science.
He loved fishing, surfing, skateboarding, the Wizards Basketball team, and most of all spending time at the bay fishing with his dad. Along with taking in words of wisdom from his mother. As the giving person that he was, he would share his catch with his friends and neighbors. But, Adam was the true catch.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 9, 2022 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Saints Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 30 Malvern Ave Richmond, VA 23221. A funeral service at Saints Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Cathedral is set to follow at 12:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Chesapeake Bay Foundation.
