I'm saddened to hear of Dr. Bains passing. I moved to Goochland in the late 90's and shorty later met Dr Bain . A great physician very caring and just a great person. We often laughed we both were looking at the same property at the same time and later on I developed a great trusting over time visiting with Dr Bain as my health care provider.

I was searching down memory lane when I ran across this obituary. My very first job straight out of high school was at Goochland Medical Center. I had the honors of working with Dr. Bain and thought so much of him. My condolences to the family for your loss.

I was so upset to hear Dr. Bain had passed away. He was my doctor in Goochland for about 40 years. He was so kind to me and really supported my endeavors as a professional musician and always helped me if I had a slight cold or anything to do with my throat.. understanding that my voice was my job. He always asked about my family and I loved how he just spent time with me which is rare in doctors these days. It broke my heart when the practice closed down suddenly and I kept wondering what had happened. Then I heard recently that he had passed away. I will really miss him. He was a kind, interesting man and I trusted him so much. My prayers go out to his family and so sorry I did not know about the gathering in time. God be with you all and peace I pray for you. Sincerely, Betsy Q Forbes

Am so sorry to hear of Dr brains passing. I was one of his patients from beginning to end of his practice. Have many fond memories of his quiet jokes and quips thru the yrs. He could make you smile and think sometimes....one about glass being half full. He saw me through some of life's hard times as well as my best. I miss him

Frank and I were co-residents during our training and bunked together during our first years. The memories of those years will last forever and his presence is a personal loss. I enjoyed our conflict as he was a Hoo and I was a Hokie and our dominance on the football field was a frequent topic of discussion. He was a dear friend. My deepest sympathies to the entire family.

Dr. Bain was one-of-a-kind. He was one of the most intelligent, worldly, interested and interesting men I have ever had the pleasure to know. Once in his examining room, you had his full attention...not only for the reason you were there for, but also for laughter and sharing of stories. My family were patients of his for as long as we've been in the county(35 years), and there will never be another doctor able or caring enough to replace him.
Sending much love and light to the good doctor's family, during this difficult time.

Wish there were more Doctors like Dr. Bain. Came and went with the tides of Health Coverage and this man never changed, never judged and was always attentive. Never rushed, unless the strict nurse came in, always wanted to make sure you were taken care of and heard. Such a loss but so much of a gain for Heaven! Prayers for all the family. RIP Dr. Bain

We have lost a dear friend. He and I played golf for many years (neither one of us ever bought a golf ball, for we found so many in the woods), and we enjoyed frequent dinners together. We miss him and extend our deepest sympathy to all his family.

Dr.Bain was my family physician through multiple generations and I was a 4th generation patient of his. From childhood up until adulthood Dr.Bain always invested the time and care into his patients and was very empathetic and understanding in all situations. I have since moved away and have yet been able to find a doctor as amazing as Dr. Bain was. Praying for his family and friends.

My sincere sympathy is extended to the entire family of Frank Bain. He was a outstanding doctor, and an even better friend. I would trust him with my life, as did his patients. To me, he was a doctor and a Marine, and I respected him always. I will miss him very much. May he rest in peace.

I am so sad to hear this. I did a 1 month rotation with him as a medical student 30 years ago, and still recall some of the pearls I learned from him. It was obvious his patients loved him. Ran into him a few years ago at a medical conference and he still remembered me. Keeping the family in prayer

I am so sorry to hear this sad news. He was a wonderful man and my trusted doctor for so many years, even after I moved to Florida, I would continue to fly back to Charlottesville, rent a car and drive to Goochland for my appointments with Dr. Bain. May God rest his soul. My heartfelt condolences to his family and friends. ~ Carol
