Gail Taylor Spring

1938 - 2024

SPRING, Gail Taylor, 85, of Chesterfield, VA, passed away on February 25, 2024. She was predeceased by her parents, Roy Saunders Taylor and Marie Godwin Taylor of Deltaville, VA, her sister, Patricia Taylor Caster of Winston-Salem, NC, and her brother, Roy Miles Taylor of Hanover, VA. She is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, James Earl Spring, her daughters, Jacqueline Spring Royall (Robert) of Powhatan, VA, and Harriette Spring Noel (Michael) of Amelia, VA, six grandchildren, Courtney Rodriguez (Tony), Christina Ekhoff (Kyle), Michelle Royall, Bobby Royall (Catherine), Travis Noel (Ashley), and Cody Noel (Hannah), 15 great-grandchildren, Kendra, Eliana, Liz, Faith, Aiden, Colton, Landon, Emma Gail, Timothy, Penelope, Freya, Rivers, Jackson, Brantley, and Olivia, Sisters-in law, Mary Ella Bass, and Mary Lou Taylor, and a host of nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind special friends, Linda Griggs, Betty Michael, Shirley and M. W. Sclater. After graduating high school, Gail left Deltaville and moved to Richmond taking on her first job at RPI (VCU). She worked with RPI for seven years, stayed home for the next seven years raising their daughters, then went to work with Chesterfield County Schools Department of Transportation, wherein she retired after 30 years of service. She was a long-time member of Central Baptist Church in Chesterfield. A special thank you to Commonwealth Senior Living/Memory Care of Chesterfield and Hospice of Virginia for the extraordinary care given to Gail.

Her graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, March 1, 2024 at Dale Memorial Park, 10201 Newbys Bridge Road, Chesterfield, VA 23832. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 225 N. Michigan Avenue, Floor 17, Chicago, IL 60601.
