Gary P. Dimenna

DIMENNA, Gary P., passed away on Monday, January 9, 2023, in Midlothian, Virginia, at the age of 73. Beloved husband of 48 years to Deborah Dimenna; devoted father of Nicole Kessler and Mark Dimenna; loving father in-law to Kevin Kessler and Katherine Klosek; and loving "Papa" to his grandson, Tanner Kessler. Gary is preceded in death by parents, Amedeo and Rosemary Dimenna.

Gary was a brilliant scientist who received his B.S. and M.S. at The Ohio State University, and his Ph.D. at Michigan State University. Following his education, he dedicated his career to the research and development of new pharmaceuticals that undoubtedly helped many lives. Yet, because of his humble nature, only his family and those who worked closely with him knew of these achievements.

While he was dedicated to his career, in his essence, Gary was a family man. His humility was no match for the pride he had for his family. He always made sure that Deborah knew how grateful he was to spend his life with her, and he was a guiding light for his children. Every dance recital, theater production, baseball game, soccer game, golf match or graduation was special to Gary, and he would not miss them for anything.

Gary had a joyful spirit with a great sense of humor and a laugh that could fill any room. He may no longer be physically with us, but his joyful spirit will live on forever.

The family will receive guests at Church of the Epiphany, 11000 Smoketree Drive, Richmond, Virginia 23236 on Saturday, February 18 from 10 to 11 a.m. with a Mass of the Resurrection to begin at 11 a.m. Interment private.
