Martin Goehle Obituary

Martin Wayne Goehle, 72, of Chesterfield Virginia passed away peacefully on August 24, 2025. He was predeceased by his father, Alfred Martin Goehle and survived by: his mother, Barbara Nohe Goehle; his brother, Gregory Bruce Goehle his wife, Kimberly Carneal Goehle, his son and daughter-in-law, Adam Martin Goehle and Ashlee Taylor Goehle, and son, Maxwell Carneal Goehle; his sister, Constance Goehle Parsell her husband, Terry Eugene Parsell, and daughter, Lebron Johanna Parsell.

Martin was the 1971 Valedictorian of Meadowbrook High School also a proud 1975 graduate of UNC Chapel Hill and earned his law degree from the University of Oregon, Eugene, in 1977. Martin was the Science Department Chair at Monacan High School where he taught Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Astronomy. As an educator Martin won a multitude of awards during his career and was proudest for being the Teacher of the Year at Monacan High School and the Virginia Science Teacher of the Year. He was a contributor to the Science Museum of Virginia and was the science advisor for Battle of the Brains. Martin was an avid naturalist and enjoyed sharing his love and knowledge of science. He also left behind a large extended family with many well-loved cousins.

A private family ceremony will be held. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Memorial Garden at Christ the King Lutheran Church, 9800 Huguenot Rd, Richmond VA 23235.
