Patrick Palmerino Donovan

DONOVAN, Patrick Palmerino, 66, of Henrico, departed this life on May 6, 2021. He is survived by his devoted wife, Candace; daughter, Rachel; son, David and wife, Tina Rutsch; son, John and wife, Katie; son, Bobby and wife, Paige; and his newborn grandson, Henry. He is also survived by granddog, Charlie; and grandcats, Oliver, Poe, Rusty and Wolfie.

Patrick found joy in his many collections, including stamps, baseball cards, comics, coins, rocks and books, which he maintained throughout his life and shared with anyone who showed interest.

He held a reverence for the Earth and for nature -- he cared for countless animals throughout his life, and loved to spend time in nature collecting rocks or simply communing with the forest. He had a fierce sense of justice and believed in the fundamental equality of all people regardless of their circumstances. Patrick valued learning and the pursuit of truth -- he passionately discussed and debated ideas and was always interested to hear about new discoveries.

Let us all remember how special Patrick was and that no matter what obstacles he faced, he faced them with positivity and a smile. We love you Patrick, with all our hearts and will miss you dearly.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1 p.m. on May 29, 2021, at Bliley's, 3801 Augusta Ave. A livestream will be available at Blileys.com.
