Rick´s keen sense of humor presided over many dinners shared with Kathy and daughters Pam and Lisa. He created a sense of belonging for myself and Kurt particularly during our first years of living at the lake. May those times be remembered by his family as fondly as I do.

Ricky and I were neighbors in Cohoes. We were about 5 or 6 years old. My mother told me that she thought Ricky had a crush on me. Good memories.

We were very saddened to hear of Rick's passing. As ten year next door neighbors in Boca Raton, it was always exciting when "Master Knoop" returned from the sea. Kath was always there holding up the fort! We're thinking of you Kath and family. With love George (Jud) and Connie Mason

Sorry to hear of Ricks passing. My condolences to his family and many friends. We sailed together for years on both the Jamestown and Baton Rouge. He was a great shipmate with a rare combination professionalism and good humor. The fond memories are to numerous to mention here but the horse story in Long Beach stands out in my mind. "GO RAIDERS"

Kathy and family,

Betsy and I were saddened to learn of Rick´s passing. We shared many great and humorous times together on Berlin Mountain. Being Captain of an Exxon tanker, made our conversations most memorable, but his warmth and wit made him a good friend and neighbor. We will say a special prayer for him and all the Knoops.

We first met Rick, our part time neighbor, full time friend, in Boca Raton. Consummate host, his off kilter sense of humor and inquisitive mind made for memorable dinners, parties, vacations and time on the water with he, Kath and the girls at their special homes. Peace to you, our dear friend.
