John was the greatest brother-in-law a guy could have. I have never met a kinder, generous, even tempered man in my life. I learned a lot from John and miss his visits to Germany. I can't believe it has already been 11 years since he died. I think of him often and will always miss him.

Thank you all for your kind thoughts and words. My older (not twin) brother will be sadly missed. In his ever positive manner though, I'm sure he'd prefer we celebrate his life rather mourn his death. He certainly had a great outlook on life. To John, every stranger was simply a friend he hadn't met. Sincere thanks, Noel.

To the Sampson Family,
John never missed a single moment to wave, smile, and stop for a chat with us while he walked that cute little dog up and down Muirfield Drive. He truly seemed to enjoy even the most brief encounter. We will miss our kind neighbor.

We so thankfull that we may knew John and call him our friend. He brought so much sun in our life. The massage about John´s passing shocked us infinitely. We wouldn´t believe it. He was so fit and full of the joys of life. It is so unimaginable to walk the path of life without our good friend from now on.
John Sampson was the most charming, loving, optimistic and most honest person we have ever known.
Our thoughts are with his loved wife and his entire family.
John is leaving a huge space.
We will keep him untill the rest of our lives in our hearts.
John we say thank you, for all that you gave to us.

We will miss you so much.

One day we will meet again

Love

Dear Ellen, Paul, Chris, Anthony, Michael and all the close relatives, friends of John

I was most honored to be able to call John a friend. He met every definition of friend. John reminded me of the "Dash" poem and the meaning of how to live your life before it is too late. Specifically in poem where I thought of John is especially the last few lines:

"IF we could just slow down enough
to consider what's true and real
And always try to understand
The way other people feel.

And be less quick to anger
And show appreciation more
And love the people in our lives
Like we've never loved before.

If we treat each other with respect
And more often wear a smile,
Remembering that this special "dash"
Might only last a little while.

John always had a smile, and always loved his family and friends. John truely lived his "Dash" with enthusiasm, and love for everything he did. The world truely was a better place because of John's life here.

My sincere condolences, and I rejoice with everyone of you who like me, had the honor to know John and be a part of his truely wonderful and fullfillng life.
