Anna Kruczek
Anna Kruczek, 92, of 48 W. Fell St., Summit Hill, passed away on Aug. 15, 2013 at St. Luke's Miner Memorial Hospital in Coaldale. She was the wife of the late Walter Kruczek who passed away on May 13, 1992.
Born in Ledech, Czech Republic, she was the daughter of the late John and Anna (Sims) Chernega.
She worked as a machine operator for the former Kiddie Kloes Garment Factory and various other garment factories, retiring 1982.
She was a member of the former St. Stanislaus Roman Catholic Church in Summit Hill being involved in various church groups. She was a current member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Summit Hill.
Anna was a member of the Penn State Club of Carbon County.
Surviving is a son, Walter Kruczek and his wife, Kathleen of Lake Hauto; a daughter, Joanna Gottardy and her husband, Charles of Quakertown; a brother, John Chernega and his wife, Joan of State College; a sister, Julia Hydock and her husband, Michael of Lake Hauto; four grandchildren, Geoffrey Kruczek and his wife, Audrey, Gregory Kruczek, Greta Cary and her husband, Jeff, and Gwenyth Martin and her husband, Mike; five great grandchildren, Davis Martin, Elliott Cary, Owen Cary, Jason Kruczek and Sarah Kruczek; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Eugene Bales.
Services: Mass of Christian burial is on Monday, Aug. 19, 2013 at 11:30 a.m. from St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 462 W. Ludlow St., Summit Hill. Interment will follow at Sky-View Memorial Park, Hometown. Calling hours are Monday morning from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the church.
