Carol Jean Loisel, age 88, loving wife, mother, aunt and grandmother, peacefully joined the Lord on December 5, 2025. She was surrounded by her devoted husband of 63 years, Charles, and her three children.

Carol was born September 18, 1937, to George and Naomi Smith of Toledo, Ohio. She attended DeVeaux grade school and McKinley Junior High School. After graduating from DeVilbiss High School in 1955, she went on to attend college at Denison University.

In 1958, Carol began her professional career as a stewardess with United Airlines. She soon met the love of her life, Charles, and the two were married in May of 1962. Following the wedding, she and Chuck caught an Indians double header and then flew off to Las Prisas, Mexico! Before starting their family, she and Chuck traveled the world, visiting Africa, Asia and Europe.

Carol enjoyed her gardening and cross stitching. She loved spending time at Bird Lake. Attendance of the Broadway shows at "the Masonic" was a staple for decades. Carol's four legged friends were loved by her as well. She also enjoyed a close group of family friends, one of whom routinely hid a holiday decoration or two to be located before the next gathering!

Most importantly, she adored her husband, who was her soul mate. She often said he was the only man in the world that could put up with her stubborn ways. She also dearly loved her three children. She was very proud of all of their achievements.

Carol is survived by her husband, Charles; sons, Mark Loisel (Brittany) of Waxahachie, Texas; and Michael Loisel (Megan) of Sylvania, Ohio; and her daughter, Megan Dixon (John) of Toledo, Ohio. Her grandchildren, Declan, Analise, Tiernan, Andrew and Maeve, will miss their Granny.

Carol donated her body to University of Toledo Medical College. Consider a donation to UTMC or the Alzheimer's Association of Northwest Ohio in her honor. A private mass will be held in Carol's honor at a later date.
