Daniel J. Moeller
Daniel J. Moeller, 45, of Sylvania, Ohio, earned his wings after a long, courageous battle on November 2, 2022. Dan was born on October 18, 1977, in Niagara Falls, NY. He was a member of the Local 351, Seaway Scaffold since 2003, where he proudly worked for 19 years. He earned his Eagle Scout honors in 1995 as a member of The Boy Scouts of America. Dan graduated from Anthony Wayne High School in 1996. Upon graduation, he earned an Associates Degree from Baker College. Dan was an active parishioner of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and selflessly volunteered as a Cross Country and Track coach, where he always rewarded each athlete with post-race candy; worked the Holy Trinity Lenten fish frys; helped with the new addition of Holy Trinity Church; and was instrumental in the construction of the new playground at Holy Trinity School.
Dan was a quiet, reserved man, with an incredible and humble impact on others. Dan always put others first and consistently performed numerous, generous actions in a big way. He always showed up to a party with a full pan of his famous queso or several pounds of his smoked BBQ masterpiece. He had a special talent and passion for woodworking. Dan was incredibly proud of his Catholic Faith and always emphasized the importance of being virtuous. In Dan's free time, he loved spending time outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, campfires, and going on bike rides with his wife and daughters. Dan valued his family and put his wife and daughters before himself.
Dan is survived by his devoted wife of over 16 years, Marie C. Moeller; his loving daughters, Isabella and Grace; parents, Earl and Jan Moeller; brother, Jim Moeller; father and mother-in-law, John and Mary Hassen; sister-in-law, Jennifer (John) Gill; brother-in-law, Chris (Jill) Hassen; sister-in-law, Emily (Bradley) Szafran; as well as many nieces and nephews, Brody, Gabriele, Emma Gill, Nicholas, Brandon, Matthew, Ryan Hassen, Henry and Vivian Szafran; as well as special pets, Gilbert and Louie. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Howard and Ruth Moeller; Robert and Louann Demaline; and childhood friend, Josh Hertzfeld.
