We are sad to hear that Derrill passed away. I knew him when I joined the Rotary in Port Clinton. His son, Mile Hablitzel was my dentist.

Derrill was a kind man and he always had a smile on his face. We will miss him.

What a remarkable man and wonderful family. I grew up in Port Clinton and have known the family for several years through Immaculate Conception Church and my parent's Madison Street printing business. I was blessed in the last few years to get to know Hab and his family even better, and every time he came to our clinic he lit the place up. Tears were flowing when I shared the news of his passing with Latrice and the rest of my team here in Cleveland. Our Thursday mornings will never be the same. He touched so many lives in his 101 years. Eternal peace and joy to you, my friend.

Mark and family,
As you know, I had over 40 years business association with your dad. Early on, however it turned into more of a friendship.
So many great memories of many many times fishing on Lake Erie or being his guest at the Marsh, to long talks on the phone. Our friendship was more important than any business could ever be.
I will miss my friend, Hab!

Oh my, I was so sad when my brother Dick called to tell me about Dr. Hablitzel! I was just thinking about him last weekabout how generous the Dr. and Mrs Hab were to me when I worked at the office during high school in the 60's and college in the 70's. Very frequently there was a generous cash bonus along with my regular pay checkwhat a surprise and a blessing for a 16 year old !and which made funding OSU so much easier. Working there led me to become a dental hygienist! I have always been very thankful for that, and for learning about compassion for people, as well as giving of one's time to others from Dr. Hab ! And a big thank to Dr. Hab as all of our children are cavity free to this very day!!! He was just a great and kind man!
It was a wonderful, happy office to work in! I will always hold the Dr. and Mrs. Hablitzel in my heart!

Dr.Hablitzel & Rich had the same Birthday so Rich always had a dental appt. Dec 14th

& I would bake a cake or coffee cake & Rich would take it to his appt. & that was very

special for Rich.

He was our family dentist for many years & he was such a gentle man.
