Jacqueline "Jackie" Schmidt

Jacqueline Sue Schmidt, age 84, of Oregon, Ohio, passed away on Friday, December 26, 2025, surrounded by her family. She was born on September 7, 1941, in Toledo, Ohio, to Clarron and Margaret (Thompson) Phillips. Jackie was a 1959 graduate of Clay High School. She married her special guy, Ronald "Ron" L. Schmidt, in May of 1962. Jackie worked as an account clerk for the City of Toledo, retiring in 1999 after 29 ½ years of service. Following her retirement, Jackie helped her husband, Ron, with his business, S & K Office Supplies, on Main Street in East Toledo, until his passing in 2013, and in 2014, Jackie joined the team at Freck Funeral Chapel as a greeter.

Jackie loved spending time with her family and friends; cooking and entertaining at home or at the lake house in Marblehead, Ohio. She was a firecracker and always on the move. In her younger years she enjoyed snowmobiling trips up North with family and friends. In her spare time, Jackie enjoyed fishing, boating, playing bar poker and a good dirty martini with blue cheese stuffed olives. She was often found listening to blue grass music and Elvis. Jackie was an avid Ohio State Buckeye fan and a member of the Elks in Port Clinton. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Jackie is survived by her son, Ronald Scott (Kristi) Schmidt; granddaughter, Autumn Schmidt; and granddog, Scarlette. She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Ron.

Family and friends may visit Freck Funeral Chapel, on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Lake Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to Toledo Humane Society or the Elks-Port Clinton.
