Maxwell Morrissey Obituary

Maxwell R. "Max" Morrissey

Maxwell R. Morrissey (Max), 34, of Oregon, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly, with his brother, Ben, on September 21, 2022. They had their lives tragically cut short while earning a living for their families.

Max was born in Oregon, Ohio on August 30, 1988 to Robert and Patricia (Troje) Morrissey. He graduated from Clay High School where he excelled in wrestling and was voted Class Clown. After high school, Max enlisted in the United States Navy where he proudly served his country. He was also a member of the United Steel Workers Local 1 Chapter 346.

Max and Darah (Bihn) were married on September 24, 2015 on the shores of Lake Erie where they planned to build their dream home together. Max's two greatest joys in his life were his children, Wilde and Recker. He was their real-life super hero. He made sure that every moment was full of adventures and was always looking for new things to do as a family. Along with being Super Dad, Max was always the "FUNcle." We never had to worry about the kids because Max would always be close by, either watching over them or causing more trouble alongside of them.

Max was an accomplished endurance athlete completing two Ironman Triathlons, multiple marathons, and endless Bike Rides. He shared that passion with his sister Carolyn, spending countless hours together on the road running and biking. Max was an over achiever and dreamed of owning his own business when he started his own food truck, Red Eye Pie. When he saw an opportunity, he took it and followed his dreams and opened Red Eye Pie & Frozen Fantasty's in May 2022 with his wife, Darah. He wanted a fun environment for people to come and enjoy pizza and ice cream and he hoped to pass it down to their children someday. Max was able to make anyone that he met laugh, no matter what level of friendship you had with him, he had a way of making you feel seen. He always had some quirky joke, or something inappropriate to say, and his laugh was contagious, but he had the kindest and most generous heart. Max loved being by the water, spending time at his in-law's beach, traveling, partaking in spontaneous and epic adventures, but mostly being with his boys. He certainly lived life to the Max!

Max is survived by his wife, Darah; sons, Wilde and Recker; his new puppy, Tasty; parents, Robert and Patricia Morrissey; sisters, Erin (Derek) Besgrove, Carolyn (John) Berryman, Sister-in-law, Kaddie Morrissey; grandfather, Robert Morrissey; grandparents, Robert and Irene Troje; mother-in-law, Janelle Bihn; father-in-law, Michael Bihn; sisters-in-law, Danielle (Tom) Addison, Dana Bihn; brother-in-law, Dayne (Cassie) Bihn, bestfriend, Spencer Grivanos; and many nieces, nephews, loving family members and friends. Max was preceded in death by his brother, Ben Morrissey, sister, Katie Morrissey; grandmother, Colleen Morrissey; uncle, Mike Phillips; cousin, Levee Segur.

The family will receive friends at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Millbury Chapel, 1111 Woodville Road, Millbury, Ohio, 43447 on Wednesday, September 28, 2022 from 12:00 - 8:00 pm.
