Robert Walter Teufel, 91 died Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at the Hospice of Northwest Ohio. He was born on February 10, 1927 in Toledo, Ohio to Walter and Maude (Tyler) Teufel and grew up on Berkley Drive in West Toledo.

Dr. Teufel was a graduate of the DeVilbiss High School class of 1945 and the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine in 1953. Bob honorably served in the US Navy during World War II as a hospital corpsman. He retired in 1989 after 35 years of private practice as a podiatrist in Toledo and Sylvania, Ohio. Dr. Teufel held memberships in the Ohio and American Podiatry Medical Associations, he was also a member of Kiwanis, the West Toledo Exchange Club and was a past board member of the Bedford (Michigan) Community Foundation.

He was a longtime member of Pilgrim United Church of Christ, serving on many boards and as moderator in 1973. He has been an active member of Sylvania United Church of Christ since 2006. Bob enjoyed golf and volunteered with the reading program at Bedford Jackman Road Elementary School for several years. He lived with his wife Jo-Ann (Straus) in Bedford Township for over 50 years, where they raised their family. They traveled extensively in the U.S., Canada and Europe.

Bob is survived by daughter, Terry Teufel (Charlie Alter); son, Tim Teufel (Cathy) and granddaughter, Molly Petty (Josh) of Kalamazoo, Michigan. He was predeceased by his wife, Jo-Ann and his sister, Elaine Ayling.

Family will receive friends on Friday from 2-4 p.m. at Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. (west of Corey Rd) where a memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. The family suggests contributions in Bob's name be sent to the Endowment Fund at Sylvania UCC, Hospice of Northwest Ohio, or a charity of the donor's choice.
