These many years later, Leon is now being reunited with his wonderful wife Muriel and his close friend Fargo. What a reunion that must be. I believe Fargo & Muriel left at the same time so Fargo could Hold open the Golden Gates for Muriel (because that's the Cowboy way) to be greeted by Leon.

Dad was a wonderful man. He was my rock, my stability. He taught me how to be independent and not to always rely on other people for things I could do myself. He taught me how to be a responsible and caring person. He was always kind, considerate, thoughtful, practical and a great teacher of life. I think of him all the time and miss him more now than ever. What a great father, husband and person. He is sorely missed and I love him dearly.
Your loving daughter, Theresa

Leon had a heart of gold, a smile worth a million and eyes that twinkled like diamonds. Any one who knew him is richer for it. My condolences and prayers go out to his family.

I have such fond childhood memories of Leon and his birds. My dad, Rene Faller, used to take us to see Leon and every so often we got to take a couple chicks or a new pheasant home to our atrium. Going to see Leon is one of the best memories I have of spending time with my Dad who is also deceased. I believe my passion for animals began from watching Leon and how he cared for his. Thank you Leon, you touched my life in a way I'm so grateful for.

Our family was saddened to hear Leon was sick, and even more saddened to hear he passed. Leon was a man that never sat down to rest or take a breath. He always had that great smile on his face no matter what he was working on.We knew him from the poultry scene he and Muriel worked so hard to make successful. Thank you both for all your hard work.
We will remember Leon fondly and we pray that he is at peace.

Celebrating the life of Leon Ewer! What a fascinating time he had..he will be missed by many.
Goodbye Grandpa, thanks for....encouraging me to try the salt block I saw the cow lick! Showing me how to pick cotton. Finding my first $400 car. Showing us more animals up close than I have ever seen in any zoo. Giving us all tales to tell...and finding time to attend the important events, all three weddings required a road trip, you really were tough in Illinois!
And most of all, thanks for my dad. May you rest in peace.

My Father-in-law was one of a kind.He was always there to help if you needed it. He always gave unconditional love.
When my Dad met Leon for the first time
he said, now there's a good man! I've
known Leon for thirty seven years and
my Dad was so right. He was and always will be a great man.
I love you and will miss you but I know a part of you is still here cause this is the place that you loved.

I have absolutely never met anyone else like Leon in my 62 years. He was so willing to help people out that he didn't always wait for them to ask, but would just quietly offer help if they wanted it. The world will be a less friendly place without him in it.

I am very sadden to hear of Leon's passing. I first met him thru a friend of his, Fargo Graham. I found Leon to be a very good person, very thoughtful and caring. I feel that he is in a better place now. May God bless him and keep him. Sincerely Jim Donahue

Leon and Muriel and their children were almost the first people we met when we moved to Tucson from South Dakota about 44 years ago. It was wonderful to meet such friendly people from our part of the country. Leon was a great help to us for many years, a great friend. We send loving thoughts to Muriel and all Leon's family.

One heck of a guy! I have never met someone who was so generous, caring, compassionate, and overall wonderful as Leon. His family values and outlook on everything is an inspiration to me. He truly touched people's lives in a positive way. I will miss him.

To a dear man, that accepted a stranger in to his heart and home. Thank you for sharing your animals and birds with me. I will always remember your kindness. Patty ( Christine Maxwell's sister)

Leon was one of the most soft spoken men I've ever known.
He cared so much about his birds and
animals.
He told me several times that I was welcome to come by and spend time with all the critters(even if no one was home).
Living in an apartment that doesn't permit pets...this gesture was genuinely appreciated.
I will always have fond memories of the wonderful friend Leon was.
