MANCHESTER -- Claude J. Lessard, 69, died May 12, 2010, at Elliot Hospital.
He was born in Sherbrooke, P.Q., Canada, May 2, 1941, toPaul and Emma (Lafond) Lessard and was a Manchester resident since 1956. He worked for Fern Lessard Roofing and Siding for many years until his retirement. Prior to that, he worked as a foreman for J. F. McElwain Shoe Company. He loved dancing, cars and building scale models. He was a parishioner of St. Pius X Church.
IN HIS LIFE: Family members include a son, Norman Lessard, and his domestic partner, Glen Bouchard of Manchester; his long-time companion, Myrtle 'Lee" Cate of Manchester; four stepsons, Leon Cate of Massachusetts, and Mark Cate, Billy Cate and Steve Cate, all of New Hammpshire; five stepdaughters, Lee Baker, Patty Magoon, Carol Jones, Linda Fisher and Kim Caprarello, all of New Hampshire; many grandchildren; a brother, Fernand Lessard of Allenstown; two sisters, Claire Dumont of Dover and Denise Carroll of Rochester; and nephews, nieces and cousins.
SERVICES: A memorial gathering will take place at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 243 Hanover St., Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be Monday at 10 a.m. in St. Pius X Church.
