There wasn´t a better cheerleader for girls soccer than Mr. Forest way back in the day. We didn´t know how fortunate we were when he continued a team with us. Little did we all know we would become close friends with his son Keith when he came to Central and we also met Jeremy. A tremendous family, including their mom, Denise, a teacher who I felt always supported me as a teacher.
Such an incredible family, and Joe, Mr. Forest, such a believer.
I am so sorry for your loss. A truly remarkable man. Thank you for sharing him with so many. He will be so missed.

Denise, our heart breaks for you and your family. We have such memories of our get-togethers, lively conversations, wondering what was Joe´s next garden experiment. Most of all we remember how his face lit up when speaking of his family, his greatest joy in a full life. He will be missed.

Joe was an absolute joy and a light in our community. We all looked forward to seeing Joe walk in the library's doors and chatting with him about his latest reads, poetry and his grandkids. He will be missed immensely. We are heartbroken.

I met Joe in my freshman year at Assumption College when we were on the track team together. Even though Joe was five years older than me, we struck up a friendship that was to be life long. I introduced Joe to Denise and thus gained a brother as well as a friend.
Joe was sui generis. He has an enthusiasm for a wide variety of things and could and did connect with people from all walks of life.
I am heartbroken at his passing but grateful for all of the years I had with him and for what a good husband he was to my sister and what a terrific father he was to Jeremy and Keith, as well as a loving and deeply involved grandfather to Carter, Logan, Caraden, Gavin and Kendal.

My condolences to Joe's family. I met Joe when I was a colleague at Hesser College. He was a most gracious man, well respected by student and fellow faculty members. Not only a sincere, giving person, Joe loved to talk History. He will be missed by many. God's speed Joseph. You've left a hole in many hearts.
