Robert Charles Webb, age 87, of Quincy, died Thursday, February 10, 2022, at 12:42 am in Blessing Hospital.
Bob was born January 24, 1935, in Palmerton, Pennsylvania, the son of Charles S. and Ada P. Beers Webb. He married Jan L. Campbell in Bellefonte, PA. She survives.
Bob graduated from SS Palmer high School in Palmerton, PA. He received a Bachelors Degree from Lafayette College in Easton, PA, and went on to attain his Masters Degree from Harvard Business School. The family relocated to Quincy in the early 1960's to oversee the construction of Prince Minerals where Bob was CEO. He eventually left Prince to form his own company, Westmin Mineral Corporation. Bob later established Webbco, a manufacturer of trace minerals for agricultural use, where he remained until his retirement.
The Webbs were long time members of St. John's Episcopal Church and are current members of St. John's Anglican Parrish. Bob served in the church Vestry. They were Emeritus members of Spring Lake Country Club and members of Quincy Country Club. Bob spent a short time as a member of the Quincy Exchange Club and was a long time member of the Quincy YMCA where he played racquetball and helped organize the games for many years. The Webbs enjoyed traveling, having visited every state in the US as well as traveling in Europe. Bob loved the beach and swimming in the ocean. He enjoyed working in his yard and especially enjoyed his bulb garden. Bob was an animal lover. He especially loved his golden retriever "Nelson" and enjoyed feeding Oreos to the squirrels in his yard. He loved to read, especially about history.
Survivors in addition to his wife include: two children, Catherine "Cathi" Webb of Quincy, and Charles "Chuck" Webb of St. Charles, MO; a sister, Janet (Charles) Martin of Bethlehem, PA; and three nieces, Kathy, Jill, and Wendy.
Bob was preceded in death by: his parents, his inlaws; and a brother in law, Walter T. Campbell, Jr.
Services: A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, April 22, 2022, at St. John's Anglican Parish with Father Patrick Smith officiating. There will be no visitation.
Private inurnment will be in Woodland Cemetery.
