Dennis McSweeney Obituary
He was the devoted husband of the late Madeline (Melnyk) McSweeney, he was born in Providence, son of the late Dennis & Winifred (McDonough) McSweeney.
Dennis worked at the R.I. Department of Health as a program planner, from where he retired. He graduated from La Salle Academy and then joined the Army during the Korean War. When he returned he attended Providence College, graduating in 1956 with a business degree.
He is survived by his children, Dennis R. McSweeney of North Smithfield, Justine Maciel and Melissa Wilson, both of Florida; grandchildren, Blake, Alexandra, Maxwell and Chelsea; and one great-granddaughter, Harper.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Patricia Lynch.
His funeral will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. from the Keene-Brown Funeral Home, 445 Greenville Road, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. John's Church in Slatersville. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Calling hours will be Monday from 5 to 8 p.m.

Dennis and Family, I am so sorry for your loss. I will always remember Dennis as a kind and very funny man. He was such a great friend to my father for so many years and I know my father will miss him terribly for the rest of his life. I will miss him too. The world won't be the same without him. Much love to all of you during this difficult time.
