Electra T. Gallagher

BURNSVILLE, MN - Electra T. Gallagher, age 98, a retired school teacher died on February, 13, 2018 in Burnsville, Minnesota. She was the wife of the late John P. Gallagher.
A lifelong resident of Pawtucket, Rhode Island, she moved to Minnesota in May of 2010 to be closer to her son, Thomas M. Gallagher and his family. She was the daughter of the late Mario C. and Sylvia L. (Pocai) Fogliano. She was also the sister of the late Andrew A. Fogliano.
Mrs. Gallagher was a social worker with the Rhode Island Department of Social Welfare and then a secondary school teacher in Pawtucket, Rhode Island school system until her retirement in 1965.
A 1941 graduate of Pembroke College in Brown University she also did graduate work at Boston University. For years she was active in the reunion activities at Brown University and marched down college hill for the final time at her 65th reunion in 2006.
With two college classmates she did Meals on Wheels for over 20 years. She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church in Pawtucket, Rhode Island.
She leaves a son, Thomas M. Gallagher, a daughter-in-law, Mary Ellen Gallagher and two granddaughters, Jennifer Gallagher in Maryland and Kathleen Gallagher (Peter Teigland) in Minnesota, and a nephew Peter Fogliano in California.
The funeral for Mrs. Gallagher will be Saturday, February 24th at 9:00 am from the Manning Heffern Funeral Home, 68 Broadway, Pawtucket. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary's Church, Pine Street, Pawtucket at 10:00 am. Her burial will be directly after the Mass in Mt. St. Mary's Cemetery.
