Mildred Irene Lapierre

LANCASTER, N.H. - Mildred Irene (Sainsbury) Lapierre, 94, of Lancaster, N.H., passed away on Thursday, June 1, 2017, at Country Village Center in Lancaster. She was the beloved wife of the late Alfred G. Lapierre Jr., to whom she had been married for almost 60 years.

Born in Woonsocket on June 17, 1922, she was the daughter of the late William Sainsbury and Grace (Mills) Sainsbury.

A resident of New Hampshire for the past 10 years, she previously lived in Attleboro for many years, and in Pawtucket, where she attended Darlington Congregational Church. Mildred relished her role as a homemaker to her large family. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, and playing Scrabble, but more than anything, she loved being with her family, especially her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mildred is survived by her loving children: Alfred Lapierre III and his wife, Gail, of California; Carol Minor and her husband, Bill, of North Carolina; Joan Pestana and her husband, Gene, of Florida; Diane Chamberlain of Vermont; and Debra Ryder and her husband, Scott, of New Hampshire. She was the adoring grandmother of 10 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. She leaves her sister, Thelma McMaugh of Providence, and was predeceased by two sisters and four brothers.

Family and friends are invited to honor and remember Mildred by gathering for a Visitation on Wednesday, June 7, 2017, from 10 to 11 a.m. in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Ave., Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, immediately followed by a Funeral Service at 11 there.

Burial services will immediately follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery and Arboretum, North Attleboro.
