Robert Lacourse Obituary
Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late Roland and Violet (Beaudet) Lacourse. He resided in Cumberland for the past 37 years, previously residing in Bellingham, MA.
Mr. Lacourse served in the Rhode Island National Guard.
Bob was a communicant of St. Joan of Arc Church. He was a 26 year member of the Bellingham and Lincoln Lions Clubs. He had many interests, but he loved snowmobiling, boating and golfing. He cherished spending time at his home in New Hampshire. He enjoyed his part time job serving the poor at the Because HE Lives Soup Kitchen in Woonsocket.
Besides his wife, he leaves his daughters Lisa Higgins and her husband Roy of Groton, MA, Leslie Parenteau and her husband Jon of Smithfield and Ellen Martin and her husband Tom of Warwick; his siblings, Roland, Paul and Marc Lacourse; three grandchildren, Timothy and Matthew Higgins and Emily Parenteau.
A celebration of his life will be held Tuesday at 9 AM from the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Rt. 122, Cumberland. Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in the St. Joan of Arc Church, Mendon Road, Cumberland. Burial will be private.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting Hours will be held Monday from 4-7 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the House of Compassion, 2510 Mendon Rd, Cumberland, RI 02864 or to the Because He Lives Ministry, PO Box 37, Woonsocket, RI 02895.

Dear Elaine and family,
Please accept my deepest condolences on the loss of your husband and father. He was my first cousin...his mom, Violet, and my mom, Jeannette, were sisters. My family lived next door to Bobby and his family on Mendon Road for 3 years, from 1949 to 1952. My sisters and I played with our Lacourse cousins for all that time. We had a lot of fun, all us kids.
Later on, we lost track of each other, but I want you to know that you are in my prayers. I remember Bobby as a fun kid! May he rest in peace.
