Robert A. Trahan

1930 - 2016

BELLINGHAM - Robert A. Trahan, 85, of Bellingham, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Friday, Oct. 28, 2016, at Maples Rehabilitation & Nursing Center in Wrentham.

Born in Pawtucket, on Nov. 12, 1930, he was the son of the late Arice and Fortunes (Brais) Trahan. He was the beloved husband of Therese (Majeau) Trahan for 60 years.

Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Denise Gauvin of Pascoag and her late husband, Andre, and Michelle Gagnon and her husband, Paul of Woonsocket; and a son, Richard Trahan, of Bellingham. He leaves his four grandchildren, Joshua Gauvin and his wife, Mary, Melanie Gauvin, Gisele Charron and her husband, Heath, and Daniel Gagnon; and five great-grandchildren, Matthew, Alicia, Travis, Samuel and Isaac. He leaves his brother, Roger Trahan of Pawtucket, and was predeceased by his sister, Arlene Newton. He also leaves his sister-in-laws, Jeanne Majeau and Grace DeRagon, as well as nieces and nephews.

Bob worked for Texas Instruments in Attleboro for 36 years, retiring in 1990.

He was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church of Woonsocket.

Bob was an outgoing person with a great sense of humor and always ready with a joke.

He enjoyed collecting antique automobiles and was involved with the South Shore Antique Auto Club. He had a love of music and enjoyed listening to a variety of genres. He also enjoyed gardening. Bob was a jack of all trades and always willing to help family and friends with projects. Devoted to his family, he will be greatly missed.

Funeral will be held on Thursday, Nov. 3, at 9:30 a.m. from CARTIER'S FUENRAL HOME, 151 South Main St. (Route 126), Bellingham, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church, 1200 Mendon Road, Woonsocket. Interment will follow at St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery, Wrentham Road, Bellingham. Visiting hours are on Wednesday, Nov. 2, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
