Wendy Ames Obituary

PAWTUCKET - Wendy Ann (Dyer) Ames, 68, of Pawtucket, RI, passed away peacefully at her home with her family at her side.

She was the beloved wife of Gregory "Buck" Ames for over thirty years. Born on April 2, 1952 in Attleboro, MA, she was the loving daughter of Pauline Lucille (Turgeon) Dyer of Attleboro and the late David Earle Dyer.

Raised in Attleboro, she was a graduate of Bishop Feehan High School, Class of 1970, and attended Bryant College. A resident of Pawtucket since 1987, she was a longtime member of St. Teresa of the Child Jesus Parish in Pawtucket. She worked for over 30 years in the medical field as practice manager for the offices of Dr. DeYoung and Dr. Statman, as part of Sturdy Associates before her retirement in 2018.

Wendy was a woman with a bright smile and a personality to match. She enjoyed any kind of opportunity to travel with her family to places including Alaska, San Diego, Florida, the Caribbean and Bar Harbor. She was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan. She held a special place in her heart for chocolate Labrador, "Schaffer", but more than anything, she loved spending time with her cherished grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and her mother, she leaves her loving daughters: Cheryl Lynn Raposa of Pascoag, RI, and Heather Leigh Clark and her husband, Christopher, of North Attleboro, MA. Wendy was the proud and adoring grandmother of David Raposa of West Warwick, RI; and Hadleigh and Hunter Clark of North Attleboro, MA. She leaves her dear cousins: Cathy Spitzer and her husband, Pierre; Gary Sanocki and his wife, Sherrill; and Lianne Bruce and her husband, David; as well as her extended family and many dear friends.

With strict adherence to applicable Covid-19 health precautions, including social distancing and the use of facemasks, family and friends are cordially invited attend a Visitation in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA, on Friday, March 5, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
