Jacob R. DeHoff

YORK Jacob Richard DeHoff, 83, entered into rest Thursday, August 21, 2014, at York Hospital. A memorial service will begin at 11 a.m. Friday at Trinity United Church of Christ, 32 W. Market St., York, with the Rev. Dr. Larry Covin, Jr. officiating. A visitation with the family will follow the service at the church. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery. The John W. Keffer Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc., West York, is assisting the family. Mr. DeHoff was born August 23, 1930, in York, a son of the late Jacob and Miriam (Klinefelter) DeHoff. He was a jeweler at the former DeHoff Jewelers and later was employed at the U.S. Post Office in York. He was a graduate of William Penn Senior High School and served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. He was a member of Trinity U.C.C. in York, where he served as an usher and deacon. He was a 32nd Degree Mason affiliated with F&AM York Lodge 266. He attended Grove City College and Hamilton Watch Repair School. Jacob is survived by his sons, Gregory J. DeHoff and his wife, Debra A., and Steven R. DeHoff and his wife, Deb L.; two grandsons, Jonathan C. DeHoff and Michael A. DeHoff; and a sister, Doris Walter and her husband, William H. Walter.
