Kathryn Smith Goad

YORK Kathryn Smith Goad, 83, died at 10:50 p.m. Thursday, August 14, 2008, at Country Meadows of Leader Heights. She was the wife of the late William D. Goad. Born December 15, 1924, in York Township, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd F. and Sarah (Krout) Smith. Kathryn was Executive Secretary of the A.B. Farquhar Division of the Oliver Corporation from 1942-1954, and the Assistant Vice President and Meetings Coordinator for the U.S. League of Savings Association in Washington, D.C., from 1959 until her retirement in 1989. She was a member of Advent Lutheran Church. Kathryn is survived by a sister, Mary Elaine and her husband, James M. Easton of York; a nephew, Randolf L. and his wife, Rev. Nancy R. Easton of Camp Hill; two nieces, Jessica E. Easton of York, and Jennifer K. and her husband, Scott Schaefer of York; and six great-nieces and nephews, Sarah, Matthew, and Rebecca Easton, all of Camp Hill, and Emily, Nicholas, and Allison Schaefer, all of York. A funeral service will be held Saturday at the Etzweiler Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 1111 E. Market St., York, with the Rev. Nancy R. Easton, pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church in Camp Hill, officiating. A viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. A private burial will be held at the convenience.
